"The Port with the Vela" places the city as a national and international reference of the sports nautical with a 20-degree race of the highest level this 2026... the event of presentation has taken place in the City Hall and has been chaired by the mayor, Germán Beardo, accompanied by the sports councilman, José Ignacio González Nieto; the president of the Andalusian Federation of Vela, Francisco Coro, along with the technical director Nicolás Mariño; the manager of the Royal Nautical Club of El Puerto de Santa María, Juan Castañeda and the manager of the Nautical Club of Puerto, Kizko, - Priezo - Priezo.

The Port of Santa María will again be in the front line of the national and international nautical calendar in 2026 with the celebration of a twenty-first-level race, integrated into the program "El Puerto con la Vela," an initiative that strengthens the municipal commitment to sailing and nautical sports as strategic axes of sports, tourism and economic development.

The City Council of El Puerto de Santa María, next to the Real Club Náutico de El Puerto de Santa María, the Club Náutico Puerto Sherry and the Andalusian Federation of Vela, has officially presented the 2026 Regatas Cartel, which contains a wide calendar of autonomous, national and international competitions to be held throughout the year in the city.

The season opened last January with the Puerto City Regata, Trophy Excellence Cup of Optimist, to continue now with the Andalusian Championship of Techno and Raceboard, organized by the Puerto Sherry Nautical Club on 21 and 22 February, and will continue throughout the year with autonomous, national and international tests. Among them are the Andalusian Olympic Week, the IQFOIL International Games, the VIII Classic Week Puerto Sherry Memorial Pedro Bores, the LV Nautical Week El Puerto de Santa María, the XXXII Regata Juan de la Cosa, the XXV edition of the Regata Proyecto Hombre on 3 October, Spanish and Andalusian championships, nautical weeks, classical regats and solidarity tests, consolidating El Puerto de Santa María as one of the great scenarios of the sailing in Europe.
