The Ilca Sub- 21 World Championship ended on Saturday in Marina Rubicón, Lanzarote, with a demanding final day marked by strong north wind and maximum emotion, leaving a very positive balance for the Spanish team and, in particular, for the regatists integrated into the pre-Olympic program of the Royal Spanish Vela Federation, within the road map to Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032.

After six days of high-level races, Spain closes the championship with a bronze medal in female Ilca6, a fourth place in male Ilca7 and two metals in the Sub-19 category, confirming the excellent moment of Spanish light sail in the transition between the youth stage and the absolute high performance.

The male gold fleet of Ilca7 lived one of the most adjusted finals of the championship. The regatist of the Spanish pre-Olympic team, Karol Krupski of the Club de Vela Puerto Andratx, leader for several days, finally concluded in a prominent fourth world position, at the doors of the podium, after a last very demanding day.

The title was for Italian Antonio Pascali, followed by Slovenian Luka Zabukovec and Polish Filip Olszewski. Krupski signed a result that confirms its international progression and its consolidation within the RFEV working group in ILCA 7. Fernando Abella (CAR Infanta Cristina) also shone, which finished seventh, with up to five RFEV regatists among the first fifteen, reflecting the depth and competitiveness of the national team. In the male sub-19 category, Spain went back to the podium with Tim Lubat (RCNP), world silver, and Sergio García (RCNP), bronze, strengthening the excellent basic work and talent detection.
