The market for recreational craft in Spain closed 2025 with a stable performance compared to 2024 and with a positive development in the last quarter of the year, especially in the smaller segments, according to the Report of the Market for Recreation Boats 2025, prepared by ANEN from the data of the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy.
During the whole year 4,992 recreational boats were enrolled in Spain, a slight decrease of -0.9% compared to 2024, while the rental market recorded 1,418 enrolments (-19.3%), with a more marked adjustment after the strong growth experienced in previous years.

The general director of ANEN, Jordi Carrasco, has stated that "2025 has been a year of adjustment and consolidation for the nautical sector, following the strong growth experienced in previous exercises. The positive development of the last quarter, especially in smaller boats, confirms that the recreational nautical system maintains a solid demand base and a remarkable capacity for adaptation to a more demanding economic environment."
The registration of recreational boats showed a weaker behaviour until May and a growing recovery in the last quarter, which has allowed to close the exercise with a stabilization trend. The month of December has recorded a growth of 14%, confirming the improvement of the market pulse in the final straight of the year.
