The Niko Palou (RCN Palma) and the Andalusian Felipe Pachón (CNM Benalmádena) have been the absolute champions in the classes ILCA 6 and ILCA 4 respectively.

The third edition of the ILCA Mar Menor Regata, held from 19 to 22 the CAR Region of Murcia, located in the town of Los Alcázares, has had a record participation of 230 ships. In addition to the numerous Spanish fleet, regatists have also competed from Italy, Portugal and Ukraine. The ILCA Mar Menor Regata has also served as a preparation for the ILCA 4 class, since the European Championship will be held in the same waters from 4 to 8 February.

The class ILCA 6 had a participation of 97 ships, and where Niko Palou showed from the beginning his favorite status, winning the first two sleeves and from there made 4-7-2- (15) -11. The mallorquin barely gave a choice, the only one who managed to contest the victory was the bat Carlos Martínez (RCR Santiago de la Ribera) who would also mark two first, added to 8-9- (12) -9-2, finally finishing in second position four points of the champion. The third position was for the Alicantino David Palacios (RCN Torrevieja).

The first two sleeves were marked by a lack of wind, although in the second class ILCA 6 was able to complete a test dominated by Niko Palou in the yellow group and the Andalusian Roberto Aguilar (CNM Benalmádena) in the blue. The class ILCA 4 would not enter into liza until the third day in which the south-west wind entered with force over 20 knots of intensity and reaching 28 and where four sleeves could be completed and in the last power to dispute in ILCA 6 the final by separating the fleet between the Gold and Silver Group

In addition Niko Palou, in addition to the absolute title in ILCA 6, took the awards in the categories Senior, Sub19 and Sub18 Male. The victory in Senior Women was for the Alicantine Sheila Martínez (CN Campello) and the Sub21 Women, Sub 19 Women and Sub17 Women for the Portuguese Maria Figueredo (CN Cascais). In ILCA 4, that of the younger, Felipe Pachón was from less to more, as after a discreet start with a 9-6 he was able to overcome himself with 1 -5-5-4, which would give him the victory with five points of advantage over the second one, the Galician Jaime Díaz (CN Marina Coruña). Third would be the shooting Toni Truyols (CN Sa Ràpita). The first female was the Valencian Marta Ferrando (RCN Valencia).
