The Christmas Trophy - Rural Kutxa, marks the end of the 2025 season of the Base Sailing in Getxo

The young promises of the School of Vela José Luis de Ugarte sailed the weekend in the Vizcaina waters of the Abra in the traditional Christmas Trophy-Rural Kutxa of light sailing, organized by the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club. It was another season's farewell to this School of Sailing, with the triumph of Nicolás Bastard (5 points) in the Optimist class. Andrea Criado (8 points) finished second and Bruno Miguvarri third (9 points), after the last tours held in the interior Abra with wind from the southeast of 12 to 16 knots. Lola raised was the first female classified and Mariana Arriola the first in the sub-13 category. The podium in Optimist G2 was formed by this order by Adrián Gainza, Telmo Penide and Telmo Pinedo. In addition, Alvaro Barquín and Tristan Veguillas were imposed in the FEVA class, with Ander Aguirre and Naia Pinedo in the second position, in a test organized by the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club.

The award of this Christmas Trophy-Rural Kutxa award was also awarded to the most outstanding regatist and team of the season. It was received by Nicolás Bastard on behalf of the entire team of the Optimist class of the School of Vela José Luis de Ugarte. Now, as the calendar closes, for ships of the Regata class, Cruise and J80, the classic and attractive Regata del Gallo will take place.

April Green orders in a series of J70 in the Ria de Vigo with seven monotypes in competition

Luis Pérez Canal with April Verde is the leader of the J70 Series, which is organizing the Royal Nautical Vigo Club, in which seven monotypes are participating. Those of the so-called Winter Series Sailway- Galego Sport now enter the Christmas stop. In 2026 the second series is scheduled for January 17 and 18, with May 23 and 24 for the sixth and last weekend of the championship.
