Fuerteventura and Julia Castro starring in the documentary Beyond the Plan

It is a journey around the island and a journey into the hand of the majorist kitesurfer
The island of Fuerteventura will be the emotional and narrative epicenter of 'Beyond the Plan' ('Beyond the Plan'), a documentary that will see the light in 2026 and that proposes a deeply human, environmental and sensory look on the link between people, sport and the ocean. The main protagonist of this journey is Julia Castro, a professional kitesurfer and natural ambassador of Fuerteventura, who takes a solo tour of over 140 kilometres around his island, driven only by the wind and its inner strength.
More than a documentary, 'Beyond the Plan' is a manifesto. An invitation to observe the world with other eyes. The documentary draws a map that changes with the tide, with the uncertainty of the Atlantic and with the certainty that life always happens when plans are broken. The territory - its volcanic landscapes, its fragility and its memory - becomes one more character, reflecting a global challenge: the balance between humanity and nature.

Julia's physical journey is also an intimate journey. Between whimsical winds and infinite silences, it revives its childhood, the fears that became momentum and the role of sport as a compass in times of uncertainty. Filmed with a poetic visual language, the documentary celebrates the strength of the female spirit, the connection with the ocean and the value of reinventing. The volcanic landscapes, the sound of the wind and the immensity of the ocean reveal both the beauty of the planet and its fragility.
'Beyond the Plan 'remember that taking care of the ocean is taking care of ourselves. That life happens beyond the plan. And that every gesture, as small as it may seem, can write a new horizon for the world we share.

The documentary is a production of PIRUBI Producciones S.L., a Canary audiovisual company based in Fuerteventura, specialized in stories that link cinema, sustainability and territory. Jose Hernandez, director of the documentary, is co-author of the script with Julia Castro, and responsible for the film adaptation of the film.
'Beyond the Plan 'is sponsored by Foil Drive, MINI, the Cabildo de Fuerteventura through' Fuerteventura Destino Azul ', the City Council of La Oliva - under the initiative' Naturally La Oliva '- the Government of the Canary Islands through the Environmental, Tourism and Youth and Sports Councils. And it has the collaboration of OBAM - Observatory of Marine Trash of Fuerteventur-, Barbara Abaroa Pérez - marine scientist -, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and Gravity Wave.
