Enrolments slow down to -2,7% in the consolidated energy -October

The market for recreational craft in Spain registered 4,617 registrations between January and October 2025, a decrease of 2.7% from the same period of 2024, according to the data of the Market Report of Recreation Embarkations (enero-October 2025), published by ANEN on the basis of the data provided by the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy. Despite the annual fall, the rate of enrolment has stabilized after last year's correction, when the decline reached just over 17% compared to 2023.
- The segment of up to 6 meters in length continues to lead the market with 3,242 registered enrolments (70.2% of the total), followed by the segment of 6 to 8 meters (18.1%) and the segment of 8 to 12 meters (8%).
- Market analysis reflects the good evolution of folding pneumatic, which grow almost 50% compared to 2024, while water bikes (-11.4%), motor ships (-4.7%), semi-rigid (-7%) and sailing (-8.3%) are back.
- Despite the fall, motor ships remain the strongest segment, with 41% of total enrolment.
- The rental market (charter), with 1,368 registrations until October, is down by 20% per year. The fall particularly affects the registration of vessels of more than 16 meters (-32%) and of the length up to 6 meters (-23.5%).
- The Balearic Islands remains the main national nautical market, with 622 enrolments (13.5% of the total), despite a fall of 16.3% over the same period of 2024. Barcelona (542 enrollments), Murcia (439) and Alicante (383) follow.
- As for the growth of enrolment, the increases in Murcia (+ 80%), Huelva (+ 42.1%), Cantabria (+ 29.3%), Cadiz (+ 27.8%) and Alicante (+ 16.4%) are highlighted.
- In the charter market, the Balearic Islands continues to concentrate almost a quarter of the total national nautical market (22.7%), despite a decrease of 23.5% in enrolment in the energy-October period. It is followed by Barcelona (13.8% of the market) which falls by 19.3% in enrollments; and Alicante (12.4% of the market).
- Highlights the growth of the registration of boats for rent from Almería (41.7%), Murcia (+ 17.5%) and Alicante (+ 15%) that reinforce their weight in this market.
