The ocean crossing Plymouth / Donostia - San Sebastián sails on July 18, 2026, will be biennial and with alternate exits from each city... is the only high race of the entire cantabrian coast and will cover a distance of 460 nautical miles across the Channel of the Mancha
On the occasion of the celebration of the 130 Anniversary of the Royal Nautical Club of San Sebastián and after a long parenthesis, since 1998, the organizing committee with the support of the City of Donostia - San Sebastián has marked the date of departure, on July 18, 2026, again consolidating itself as one of the most important ocean races of the Gulf of Bizkaia.
This international race will once again bring together the twinning cities of Plymouth and Donostia - San Sebastián, symbolizing the brotherhood that unites both cities. The Navy Cup - Plymouth - Donostia / San Sebastián race will be biennial and with alternate exits from each city.
This will be the seventh edition of a race that began in 1986. The route of this ocean race covers a distance of 460
nautical miles. Starting from the vicinity of Plymouth Bay, the ships will cross the Channel of the Mancha, pass the island of Ouessant by port at 124 nautical miles, and leave the Chaussée de Sein by port 24 miles south of Ouessant, before reaching the vicinity of Donostia-San Sebastian.
