The tenth edition of the Transat Café L'OR Le Havre Normandie has started this Sunday with a spectacular departure from the French port of Le Havre, where 148 ships and more than 300 regatists from 18 countries have sailed, with 3,750 nautical miles ahead, to Martinique. Among them is the presence of several Spanish sailors who face the great ocean challenge with illusion and ambition.

During the past year, Bauzà has been training at the base of Lorient, in France, a neural centre of the French ocean sail, where he has been able to prepare with the best international teams and regatists. The Spanish Pablo Santurde, experienced Cantabrian regatist who already won in 2021 and with four participants in this test, and Pep Costa, a young Barcelona navigator who continues to consolidate in the sailing of international height, also compete in this emblematic race. They do it on board the VSF Sports.

The fleet faces a complicated first night, with 30 to 35 knots of raches, before heading towards the English coast in search of better conditions. The Class40 will make a mandatory scale in A Coruña to avoid the passage of a strong Atlantic temporal, and the accumulated times until Martinique will determine the final positions. The Transat Café L'OR, a legacy of the mythical Transat Jacques Vabre, reunites the world's elite of ocean navigation in one of the most demanding and followed by the international calendar.
