The College of the University of Oviedo, with the sponsorship of the Alvarzonález Foundation, announces a Claudio Alvarzonález Sánchez Scholarship of research. The grant has an allocation of 4,000 euros and is intended for the performance of a free work
choice on some subject within the specialties Nautical and Transport... or Marine (Naval Machines).

This year is the number 27 edition of this scholarship to which you can choose graduates or graduates of Marina Civil graduates from any faculty or higher school in Spain and who are in possession of Spanish nationality. The research work must be carried out within a maximum of one year from the date of notification of the competition's decision, scheduled for early December 2025. The last day of receipt of applications is October 31, 2025, either at the School of the Civil Navy of the University of Oviedo (Campus Universitario, Gijón), or at the offices of the Alvarzonález Foundation (C / Claudio Alvarzonález 16-1, Gijón).

The Alvarzonález Foundation is intended to pay tribute with this scholarship to the brigadier of the Royal Spanish Navy Claudio Alvarzonález Sánchez (1816-1896), known as the 'Hero de Abtao', who was also mayor of Gijón.
