The Abanca Week arrives in La Coruña with the Abanca Sailing Series

The Abanca Week premires in La Coruña, and it does so with one of the pillars of its organizational structure... the Royal Coruña Nautical Club, with a high-quality event that unites its new name of Abanca Sailing Series, the traditional and almost centenary name of Cidade da Coruña. The classes in competition on this first occasion the snipe and 420, with quality of official classifying races... and a great atmosphere as 50 ships will be in line of departure, with more than a hundred regatists.
In the snipes confirmed the tandem that won the bronze in the recently celebrated European Championship: Roberto Bermudez de Castro Rey-Jose Ramón Pardo, who compete for the Club Náutico Marina Coruña; a snipe that was about to proclaim itself a continental champion, as it came as leader of the closing day in Portuguese waters. Another of the strong the multicampeon of the Finn class: Miguel Fernández Vasco who will be a partner with Miguel Fernández Alonso and who will be regating for the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña... as well as the duo madrileño of the Real Club Náutico de Madrid Martín Bermudez de la Puente- Beatriz Días Norris. They are examples of the many illustrious ones that make up the list of the snipe class.
In 420 the participation is basically from the Real Club Nautico de Vigo, Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona, Club Marítimo de Canido, Real Club Nautico de Sanxenxo and Real Club Nautico de La Coruña, of the categories Sub17 and Sub19. The great favorites among the girls and even at the absolute level are Aitana Pérez- Laura de la Fuente, team of the Monte Real and the Nautico de Vigo, which are currently the number one of the absolute ranking... in boys stand out the second of the active table of results, which are Luis Wizner Pérez- Lafuente and Celia de la Fuente... and as regards the Herculine clubs to highlight their best partner: the Real Club Nautico de La Coruña Fernando González del Castillo and Martín Seoane; they are the third in the official net ranking.
On Saturday the competition begins at 2: 00 in the afternoon (before 10: 00 the race office is opened and at 12: 30 the usual briefing of coaches from the different teams); on Sunday the start of the competition will be at 11: 00 in the morning, and the closing ceremony at the edge of 5: 00 in the afternoon in the Sports Building of the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña, organizer and as we said essential piece in the Organization of the Abanca Week.
