The first act enjoyed sunny conditions but with low winds in Barcelona

This past weekend was held in waters of the conical city, the first event of the International Barcelona Winter Series of J70. Competitiveness was very high and at the top there was little difference. Nice conditions, but loose winds in Barcelona waters (2 / 10 knots), which caused judges to only get part of the program: 8 sleeves out of the 12 planned.

The triumph of the first act was for the British SeriousFun, who was the most regular and who managed to accumulate four partial wins in his locker. He was followed on the podium by the local team Bodegas Can Marlés who began leading at the end of the first day, but did not hold the pace of the English. The bronze of this first contest was for the canaries of the HSN Sailing Team, which after an off-line in the third.

The organization was on behalf of the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona, and despite the fact that there was a registration that exceeded the 25 teams, in this first series only 10 units took part in the race, with teams from the United Kingdom, France and Spain. For the next series, which will take place from 3 to 5 October if it is expected that even 30 monotypes from other nations such as Hungary, Austria, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland... and Galicia will be exceeded.
