Baleares was second with Canary Islands of third and Galicia at a podium

Finally, Catalonia has been the community that takes to Barcelona the triumph in the Regata de la Mujer held for three days in Vilagarcía de Arousa, under the organization of the Royal Spanish Federations and Gallega de Vela, with the framework of the Centro Galician de Vela of the town pontevedresa.

The team of El Balís (Mary, Jana, Lucia and Martina) commented that, "at first it was chaos because we had never sailed the four together before, nor on this ship. However, we have been gaining confidence test-to-test, until we have managed to establish our roles," said the Catalan patron. "Finally, although it has been very hard, we have got first place. We leave with very good sensations and with a desire to repeat," he said. Catalonia also took the Regularity Award, which was awarded by the Rechtación de Pontevedra. Its final result was 27 points.

The Baleares of the Real Club Nautico de Palma, with Gabriela Morell, adjusted the second square to a very short distance from the gold, with just 1 point difference after 14 tests. This shows well the level experienced these days in Vilagarcía.

The Canaries, with Cristina Martínez Doreeste, were made with bronze, after a first day in which they reigned as leaders, saving the second day of the race thanks to discards, even though they were left off the podium. This third day has given them the opportunity to refind the right ones and they finally got into the third step with 33 points.

Finally, Galicia was fourth, an expedition represented by the race team of the Real Club Náutico de Vigo, with Paula Ríos in a row. They had 33 points with the Canary Islands, but the best average of the islanders gave them the advantage not to take off the bronze.
