As the director of the Group of which Digital Nautical is a part, I wish to express both on my own behalf and that of all my colleagues in different projects such as the Abanca Week, our deepest regret for the sad loss of our friend Andres Ríos. In his honor and indelible memory, we publish with all our pain, the beautiful lines we read in the half-brothers of The Ideal Galician and DxT Champion. You walk forever. Manuel Pedro Seoane, Editor

He has left us one of the brightest Galician journalists in the world of sport... he has left us an illustrious Galician, a friend of his friends, a gentleman of those who are increasingly short. Today many friends of Andres, we are sad, we live in Vigo, or in La Coruña, or in Ferrol, or in Ourense, or in Pontevedra, or in Santiago, or in Lugo... and it is that he was loved throughout Galicia, in the vast majority of those who make up the Sports family of our land. Rest in peace.

After more than twenty years in the champion dxt, the iconic Coruñés journalist took a step forward in 2022 to direct the direction of the headers of the La Capital Group, El Ideal Galician, DxT Champion, Diario de Ferrol, Diario de Arousa and Diario de Bergantiños.

Ríos began his professional career on Radio Cadena Española, later on Radio 80 and TVG. In 1984 he reached the drafting of El Ideal Galician, where he developed his work in several sections such as Local, National, International or Sports, which he directed. In 2000 he joined DxT champion as editor-in-chief, accessing in 2009 the address of our editorial's sports newspaper.

In 2024, Andrés Ríos closed his professional career as director of Institutional Relations of La Capital, before going to enjoy journalism from the reader's side, one of his passions, by the sea, where he usually went out as a Red Cross volunteer, who wanted to say goodbye to the journalist through a message on his social networks.

Andrés Ríos, in addition to as a journalist, demonstrated his human worth by saving the life of a woman who was drowning on the beach, an act for which he was decorated with the Medal of Civil Protection Merit in the City Council of A Coruña. In addition, his career was worth entering into the Royal Order of Knights of Mary Pita.
