Next week, the Bosphorus Cup will turn Istanbul into a scene where sport and culture merge. In its twenty-fourth edition, the event, scheduled from September 17 to 20, will receive a thousand regatists who will compete on 60 ships from 10 nations. The summit of this spectacular event will be the Bosphorus Regatta on Saturday, September 20, where the fleet will sail along the narrow emblematic that separates Europe from Asia.
It is an unforgettable cultural and sports experience in one of the great cities of the world. Walking the impressive river road brings us closer to the heart of this metropolis of 15 million inhabitants. Ottoman palaces, medieval fortifications and three magnificent hanging bridges are found along the route. With complex currents and wind shadows to dominate, it is a unique skill test for any navigator.

The pomp and solemnity surrounding the Bosphorus Cup is already under way. At a special ceremony in Büyükada, the defending champion, Berkcan Cankaya, of the Arkas Sailing Team, returned the trophy to the organizers, marking indelibly the moment of the passage from one edition to the next
Organized with the support of the Turkish Sailing Federation, the Bosphorus Cup is supported by Çift Geyik Karaca, Bilyoner, Martı, Chery, Princes' Palace Resort, Yuka Yat, Feriye, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, TGA and Setur Marinas. This year's program includes regatta in the Marmara Sea, followed by a day of regatta around the island of the Princes at the Princess Palace Resort Race, before the great final and the Bosphorus Race. The Dr. Bahri Akdağ, founder of Princes' Palace Resort, is a faithful follower of this sport and is delighted to participate.
Founded in 2002 by Orhan Gorbon and ORG Sports, the Bosphorus Cup is Turkey's main international sailing event. It offers an exceptional opportunity to navigate in the Strait of the Bosforo, where Europe meets Asia, and combines high-level competition with a unique cultural and tourist experience in the sailing world.
