Four decades are completed with a new edition of the Prince of Asturias Trophy, by the hand of Mount Real Club of Yates and the Military Naval School. Between 5 and 7 September, the Rías Baixas will again be the stage, one more year, of one of the most prestigious races on the national calendar.
This edition of the Prince of Asturias Trophy will be sponsored by Abanca and will offer a wide range of different competitions in which more than 80 ORC, J80 and Fibarian cruises will compete. A maximum of 6 sleeves will be held for the ORC 0-4, 9 tests for the J80 and Fibarians, and 2 for the ORC 5 and Open classes. The event will also include the holding of tests as relevant as the Spanish Cup of J80; the Conde de Barcelona Trophy, which awards the best Portuguese crew; the President of the Xunta Trophy, which is part of 5 races that are held in different points of Galicia; and the 29th Gestilar Ladies Cup, which brings together women's crews on equal terms. The competition will start on Friday afternoon, with the first tests for the fastest ORC and the monotypes from 3: 00 in the afternoon. The central day will be held on Saturday, with races for all classes. And on Sunday the last day, it will mark the outcome of this four-year edition, with the latest tests and the award of prizes to the winners.
