It was a very special year in 2006 for the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, and for its most emblematic race: the former International Regata of the Rias Bajas, which in that unique year coincided with the departure of the Volvo Ocean Race from the very centenary Club, and with the celebration of the World Galician Star of Platu 25 (the one that was also Triente in the organization, achieving more than 90 ships from all over the world... American, Asian and African countries included)... highlighted by the participation of 142 cruises... with a truly unique one: the Fast of Bouzas.

The culprit of the story, the then Commodore of the Royal Nautical Club, Ramón Ojea father who convinced me and Giraldo: not in vain were he vice president and I president of the Rape in those years.
