Nia Suardíaz del Náutico de Sevilla, achieves the world bronze of surf-freestyle

The Wingfoil World Cup has cast the curtain into the 2025 course in the discipline of surf-freestyle with the dispute of its third and final punctual test, held in Gran Canaria. The competition has had as its stage the beach of El Burrero, where the athlete of the Club Náutico Sevilla Nia Suardíaz (Duotone, Roxy, Montana Aerospace, Wip, Voar and Diputación de Cadiz) has certified its third final position on the circuit.

After imposing itself in the inaugural test of the season, held in mid-April in Leucate (France) and being fifth a week ago in the waters of Fuerteventura, the defender of the world title repeated the semifinalist square in Canary waters to be placed in the third final square and thus yield her crown. He did so before the German quinceañera Marie Schlittenbauer, who repeated victory for the second consecutive occasion to proclaim himself a champion in the present exercise.

The teutona has accumulated 2,770 points, 1,000 of them in this test, for the 2,740 of the Catalan Mar de Arce, subchampion in Gran Canaria, and the 2,450 of Nia Suardíaz, that with the 580 points achieved in the closing of the surf-freestyle season has not been able to retain the title. That is, it has accumulated a new international success to add to a spectacular wingfire palmaris.

The next competition of Nia Suardíaz, which last year was only 17 years old, will be the Spanish Freestyle Championship, scheduled in Tarifa from 10 to 14 September and in which he defends title. And at the international level, the tarifeña will resume the GWA circuit in Abu Dhabi, Arab Emirates, from 25 October to 2 November to close the season in the mode of freefly-slalom, in which it leads the provisional classification after winning the two tests held to date.

For the duo Angel Ballesteros- Sonia Hidalgo the first Andalusian Autonomy of Snipe of the season

The champions of Spain Master 2024, Angel Ballesteros and Sonia Hidalgo (RCN Motril), who with a third place in the closing test confirmed their leadership and proclaimed themselves winners of the Autonomical Cup of Andalusia for the minimum, with only one point of advantage over Ignacio Zalvide (CN Sevilla) and Fausto Arroyo (RCMT Punta Umbria). The latter were awarded the victory in the last manga and, thanks to the discarding of a fifth previous post, they managed to climb to the second place of the general... on the other hand Raúl Ortiz and Juan María Carrasco (CDN Punta Umbria) that left as seconds, they gave up one place after signing a sixth on Sunday, closing the competition in third position, two and three points from the previous ones.

The award of trophies took place in the facilities of the Real Club Marítimo de Huelva, organizer of the race together with the Andalusian Federation of Vela, by delegation of the Junta de Andalucía through the Council of Culture and Sport.
