El Vela Latina Canaria lived on Saturday one of its most accidental and dramatic days of recent years. The Belén María Memorial Contest, the last notable test for the Cabildo Cup of Gran Canaria, was cancelled in the middle of the tour by the Committee of Regatas due to security reasons, in an afternoon marked by cascades, trabucadas - volcanos - and retired in chain.
