The GWA world circuit... the Global Wingsports Association returned to Gran Canaria for the third consecutive year, but 2025 brought the vibrant shores of El Burrero as a novelty, known for its sea-to-earth crossed winds ideal for the action of Surf-Freestyle, where the new world champion has already been proclaimed in record time. This duel was reduced to French Axel Gerard and Danish Benjamin Castenskiold, who was consistently solid, while Gerard accumulated the highest notes by trick. But when Gerard fell into his final attempt, the title got away.
In the female fleet, the Nia Suardiaz (current world champion) is leading the rankings, but its main rivals, Mar de Arce (Tarifa) and Marie Schlittenbauer (Germany) are still strong candidates. With the title in play, El Burrero is the perfect stage for an unforgettable outcome of the 2025 season of Surf-Freestyle.
