For the Portonovo Nautico, this project has a special meaning, for for several years now the Club is investing and improving its facilities to make them 100% accessible, making investments of more than 70,000 euros in the last three years.

This August, the project "Atics at reach and all..." is still under way... putting the concept in value... with the help of the Conselleria do Mar, through the Coastal Action Group of the Pontevedra River, and organized by the Portonovo Nautical Club. This week the activity with people of the AEPEF entity (through COGAMI) came from various localities of Galicia and the rest of Spain, such as Lugo, Cambados, Madrid or A Coruña, for example.

During the first 40 minutes they received information on safety and initiation to sailing, as well as a manual of good environmental practices at sea, then they went up to the collective boats of the Nautic Club of Portonovo to go out to sail, receiving the first nautical baptism almost all participants. At all times they were accompanied by monitors of the Club and its Association.

It considers it essential to bring the sea closer to people who, because of their disability, do not have the opportunity to do so, helping to improve some of this unfavourable situation. Participants can enjoy the Galician coast and break barriers in such a way that the nautical is universal. The intention of the Portonovo Nautical Club is to be able to continue this activity in the following years and to bring the nautical and the sea closer to different groups that for different reasons cannot do so. The action plan aims to promote the development of sustainable and accessible sailing.
