Delegation of the Government of Spain and the two federations reach a mutual understanding to transfer the request to the appropriate body

The presidents of the Royal Galician Federation of Vela, Manuel Villaverde, and the Galician Federation of Piragüismo, Alfredo Bea, met in the city of A Coruña with the Delegate of the Government of Spain, Pedro Blanco, to transfer the need to establish its own regulations and legislation appropriate to the federated sports nautical, independent of the current one governed by the laws of the Merchant Navy.

Both presidents understand that the Captains cannot, in the face of possible requirements and sanctions, apply the same requirements as for merchant or passenger ships, in many cases disproportionate to the practice of a competitive sport activity supported by the federations themselves, as institutions supported by the different local, regional and state bodies.

The Government Delegate undertook to transfer the request to the Higher Council of Sports, in order to open a new path that will reach a good port and achieve the proposed objective, taking into account that both Federations already have their own safety protocols.
