The nautical market in Spain is modeling its fall: the registration of recreational boats has a decrease of -2.5% until July
Between January and July of this year, 3,684 recreational boats have been registered in Spain, which is a decrease of -2.5% from the same period of 2024, according to the Report of the Market for Recreation Boarding (energy-July 2025) prepared by ANEN from the records of the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy.
Jordi Carrasco, CEO of ANEN, values that "After the beginning of the year with widespread falls, the market has since June shown a recovery trend that aims at an adjustment of demand and a favourable closure of the current nautical season, although we remain very attentive to economic developments and external factors that can influence consumption. "
Evolution by length
The vessels up to 6 meters, which account for 68.6% of the market, moderate their fall to -2.5% in the period under review. For their part, vessels between 12 and 16 metres have the best result with a growth of 1% over the same period of 2024. On the contrary, the length of more than 16 meters is back by -9.8%.
Market developments
By type of boat, the largest increase is the folding pneumatic, with a growth of 50% over the energy -July 2024, reaching 408 enrolments.
By volume, the motor ships are maintained as the leading segment, with 1,542 units (- 4.5%), followed by the water bikes, with 1,116 units (-9.6%).Rental market
The market for boats for rent has registered 1,175 registrations in the first seven months of the year and has a slight decrease (-17.3%) from the fall in the previous months. The boats with length of 8 to 12 meters and 12 to 16 meters have been the only segments that have registered in positive terms for the year for the use of rent, with growth of 7% and 7.3%, respectively.
Distribution by province
The provinces with the highest number of enrolments in this period have been Barcelona (470) that grows by 6.3%, Baleares (486) that has a fall of -23.2%, Alicante (335) that grows by 25.2%. In terms of the growth of enrolments, highlight Murcia (+ 71.4%) and Pontevedra (+ 75.5%).
