The new hornada of the School of the Maritime Club of Canido with its president Juan Pablo Cividanes and director Emilio Méndez

End of course at the School of Sailing of the Maritime Club of Canido and new hornout of regatists ready to continue their training in the youth categories. It is the case of Alma Chamorro, Laura Pérez, Iago Guisande, Irene Campos, Juan Camacho and Julia de Cominges who have spent several seasons for the mandatory formation in the optimist and where they have competed learning in the waters of Palma de Mallorca, León, Extremadura, Portugal and the North African port of Agadir... where they have represented the Maritime and the Galician candle itself, doing so with commitment and sports spirit.

This season marks the beginning of a new challenge: the creation of the fleet of 420 in the Maritime. Some regatists of Canido have already made the leap to this new class: Juan Camacho sails with Iago Guisande, being the first to begin this new stage; Alma Chamorro forms crew with Laura Pérez, and Julia de Cominges joins Gonzalo Silveira. One of the young values, the product of the Maritime School of Canido is Omar Colmenares, who says goodbye after eight years as a teacher. The Vigo regatist was at an early age with only seven years of student, at the orders of Emilio Méndez, who is still responsible for this area today.

Among the projects of the Marítimo de Canido Club that Juan Pablo Cividanes presides, is the bet for the 420, a boat before the 470 (mixed Olympic) and in which two regatists sail. In this line the Club, among the founders of the Abanca Week, has a pre-agreement with the Olympic coach of the Royal Spanish Federation of Vela, to provide in the fall of 2026, an international clinic that will be part of the activities of the related multinational event in our country.
