Ibiza JoySail reaches its fifth edition with a record fleet that will fight for the Perpetual Trophy
The Ibiza JoySail Superyacht Regata reaches its fifth edition with exponential growth. In its first edition, held five years ago, four vessels participated; this year, the list of registered ones is 22 superyachts, accompanied by an interesting waiting list, which reflects the consolidation of the event in the international nautical calendar of the Mediterranean.
Among the participants is the Moat, a veteran ship that has been part of all the editions and has always achieved victory in its category, becoming a reference within the race. The meeting, from 18 to 21 September, replaces the focus on Ibiza as a premium nautical destination. Marina Ibiza, located in the heart of the city, provides a
first level and exclusive services, providing participants and visitors with a complete and high quality nautical experience.
One of the most expected moments of each edition is the Perpetuo Trophy, the timed challenge facing the superyachts involved in a high voltage crossing between Mallorca and Ibiza. The goal: to travel the 48 nautical miles that separate Punta Cala Figuera (Mallorca) and the island of Tagomago (Ibiza) in the shortest possible time. Speed, strategy and wind in favor become the key ingredients to conquer this challenge which is already a classic within the JoySail Ibiza. The challenge will officially open from 16 August to 16 September, and although it is not yet in progress, expectation is already being breathed. The record is currently held by the superyacht Maximus, which in the last edition completed this section in 3 hours and 31 minutes. A time difficult to overcome, but not impossible.
