The sea and wind season hardens the 420-470 Junior European day in Matosinhos waters
The second day of the European Youth Championship of 420 and 470 2025 presented difficult conditions for the almost 600 young regatists who competed. A north-west breeze, which began with 15 knots and increased to 20 knots, with waves reaching 1.5 meters, turning the waters of Matosinhos into a real battlefield with the haunted sea.
The north brought intensity, but also benefits: the sleeves started and ended earlier, which gave the regatists more time to rest and recover at the end of the day, a crucial advantage in such a demanding week of competition. In category 470, two valid tests were conducted, where the French team maintained its domain:
