More than 700 palists, from 29 clubs all over Spain, competed this weekend in the Spanish Dragon Boat Championship... the full collection of the competition was for the associations of people affected by the DANA... women survivors of breast cancer demonstrated the power of sport for rehabilitation

Marina Port Valencia hosted this weekend the ninth edition of the Spanish Dragon Boat Championship, on a 200-metre track, with tests on both DB10 (10 palists) and DB20 (20 palists) ships, in which more than 700 palists from 29 clubs from all over Spain participated, competing on Saturday and Sunday morning.

The event was organized by the Club Dragon Boat Marina Valencia BCSACS, the Federation of Piragüismo de la Comunitat Valenciana, the Real Federación Española de Piragüismo, the Fundación Deportiva Municipal and Marina Port Valencia, which again became the reference site of this nautical modality, combining competition, inclusion and solidarity.

He highlighted the participation of more than 80 women survivors of breast cancer who gave visibility to this disease and worked for the awareness of the general public, demonstrating the power of sport for rehabilitation. The championship integrated senior, veteran and paradoxical categories, with teams competing in open, mixed and female modalities. The tests were played by series of 4 to 7 teams on 200-meter tours, the best times were classified for the Final A and the rest added points depending on their brand.

The most prominent clubs and teams were the Canoa Kayak Zamora, who led the medallion with three oros (veteran woman, veteran mixed DB20 and veteran open DB20), one silver in veteran open DB10 and one bronze in veteran mixed DB10; the Vallkirias del Pisuerga (Valladolid) who won four medals, gold and silver in BCP (people who have passed a breast cancer), silver in veteran woman and bronze in a veteran woman.
DB22 and the Royal Torrevieja Nautical Club, which obtained three bronzes, DB12 veteran open, DB22 veteran open and DB22 mixed veteran.

Marina Port Valencia has bet on the dragons version... which is certainly a great success... and especially to generate BCS competitions that have community support... as a sport that benefits female cancer therapies. The example of the great Valencian company is not the only one in the sector of the great nautical facilities... because in the Atlantic who has bet on these competitions is Marina Coruña, which has an illustrious regatist as CEO of the Company: the great ocean navigator Chuny Bermudez de Castro, who is the president of the Organizing Committee of the Trophy Cidade da Coruña de Dragons, which within the macro nautical event A Coruña Nautical Festival, will be held in waters of the beautiful herculin bay on Saturday, October 18.
