The Real Club Marítimo del Abra - Real Sporting Club organized its second Bonito Sports Fishing Championship in which 20 boats participated. The weighing was carried out with a large influx of public and good atmosphere between 4 and 7 p.m. and the award was later held in El Saltillo. In total weight, the first was the Taldeka of Javier Ibarzabal with 160.80 kilos; the second the Bizartxu Fernando Ruíz Olaortua - winner one year earlier - with 123.30; and the third the Hook of Jesus Echevarría with 104.75 kilos. The major piece was a 30.25-kilo nun captured by the Bizartxu. And the ship with the largest number of pieces was the Hook with 19.

This Open High Fishing, of a sporting-beneficial nature, was open to the sports fishermen with exit from the base port of each ship or from any other freely chosen by each participating pattern. The arrival took place in the area balized by the organization in the Abra on the ironing of the RCMA-RSC. This championship was sponsored by Repsol, Gaizka Fish and Seafood and Estrella Galicia, with the collaboration of Serrats, Rocket, Sokala and Hunting and Fishing TV.
