One month after the start of the 2025 edition of The Ocean Race Europe, seven mixed crews, composed of regatists from 13 countries, are in the process of preparing for the departure to take place in Kiel (Germany) on 10 August.

The 4,500 nautical-mile ocean race begins in Kiel and will take the fleet all over Europe, with scales in England, Portugal, Spain, France and Italy, before the teams reach Boka Bay in Montenegro on September 15-16, where the final race will be held on September 20. The arrival in Montenegro is the first time in more than 50 years of The Ocean Race history in which the crews will compete in the Adriatic Sea.

The seven teams will compete on board IMOCA ships with foils, which use retractable appendices to partially raise the water hull, thus reducing resistance and increasing speed. The crews will be made up of four regatists (plus one reporter on board), representing at least two nationalities, and at least one woman.
