Third edition in Shipyard of the Inclusive Nautical Festival

Nautica Digital Europe Sports Highlights Piragüism

The Cantabrian town of Astillero will live next Saturday, July 5 in the Park of Las Parris, in Astillero (Cantabria), an event that is consolidated as a reference in our country of the promotion of adapted pyragüism and coexistence through sport and that in 2025 zebra its third edition. The Inclusive Nautical Festival will again become an epicenter of inclusion and sport, and it has the support of the Royal Spanish Federation of Piragüismo, who celebrates and supports this type of initiatives that make Piragüism a more accessible and committed sport to equality.

Organized by the Club Cantabria Multisport, chaired by the Olympic diploma Agustín Calderón (Atlanta 1996), and by the Living Cantabria association, the festival will not only bring together elite athletes and new talents, but this year will include an official international competition of paracanoa in a marathon distance, an unprecedented milestone so far in Spain. The I Open International Paracanoe Marathon is a test recognized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF) as the basic international event, being the first international competition for persons with disabilities not integrated into an official continental or world championship. "This festival is much more than a competition: it is a celebration of inclusion, of sport without barriers, and of how pyragüism can transform lives," Calderon, the soul mater of the event, points out.

From 9: 00 p.m., the public will be able to enjoy a vibrant program that includes official evidence (KL and VL, male and female), inclusive demonstrations on double ships (K2 and OC2), jogging for young promises, and the expected popular Dragon Boat activity, open to all audiences, with or without prior experience and where the ceremony teacher will be the journalist and communicator, Leticia Mena. The day will be threatened by workshops, live radio and multiple activities on land and water and concerts by La Voz del Patiente and The Gordini Rock Show, while also taking part in local companies that also believe in inclusion as a social transformation engine.

In this context, the Shipyard event becomes a national and European reference point, and it responds directly to the objectives set out in point 10 of the Decalogue, which proposes "to promote measures to increase the role of organised disability and the Paralympic movement in the areas of governance and civil dialogue, with an absolute commitment to sustainability: governance, the environment and social cohesion."
