Wing Foil Youth World in the Costa Brava

This Monday has started the GWA Youth Wing Foil World Championship Costa Brava, the youth world championship of Wing Foil. Until Sunday, the waters of the bay of Roses, opposite the beach of the Cortal de la Devesa de Sant Pere Pescador, will be the stage of this exciting competition. A hundred athletes from 15 countries participate in the third world event of this innovative and emerging modality, which has quickly consolidated on beaches around the world with good wind conditions, such as those in Roses Bay
This championship is not only a platform for high-level competition, but also a clear bet on the youth training class, which outlines the Wing Foil as a new Olympic discipline for the 2028 Los Angeles Games. Its global popularization and the holding of events of this magnitude are key in this way.
Wing Foil is a truly innovative and dynamic sport that reinterprets the limits of traditional surfing, windsurfing and kitesurf. Its combination of a wing (wing) and a table equipped with fire allows athletes to quickly rise and slide gently over the water with a minimum friction, offering a unique and spectacular experience.
During five days, the young regatists will compete in the male and female category in two demanding disciplines: the FreeStyle, which combines surfing with spectacular air tricks taking advantage of aquatic conditions, and the FreeFly-Slalom, a competition format that combines technical elements of the slalon with sections where you should surf, plan or pump without the support of the wing.
