The beach of San Andrés is hosted this weekend, the Oleaje Bodyboard Contest 2025, one of the most outstanding tests of the national calendari of bodyboard, organized by the Sports Club of Surfing Oleaje along with the Spanish Federation of Surfing and the Canary Federation of Surf. Since this Friday, more than 90 Riders from different points in Spain and the Canary Islands are already training in Arucas, making the northern coast of Gran Canaria the center of the state boyboard for two intense days, sponsored by the City of Arucas, Kalise and Tirma. The championship includes the categories Bodyboard Open, Women, Dropknee, Master, Sub18 (male and female), Sub16, Sub14 and Sub12. A total of €2,000 will be distributed in cash prizes, in addition to the drawing of sports material for the different categories, thus encouraging participation and recognition of emerging talent.

One of the great fans of the event is the participation of the grancanary Armide Solidios, the current champion of the world after conquering the Iquique Bodyboard Pro 2025 in Chile. With a brilliant victory against Brazilian Uri Valadao, Soliedos added a new title to its extensive Pallet. Recognized for its technical and strong style, it has been consolidated as a key figure in the IBC circuit and in the development of the bodyboard in the Canary Islands. Solids, in addition, competes representing the Sports Club of Surfing Oleaje, which reinforces the local weight of the event. The young promise Mar Suanzes will also be a protagonist in this edition of the Bodyboard Contest Oleage. The canarian rider, also a member of the Sports Club of Surfing Oleaje, arrived after he proclaimed himself a Spanish champion Sub18 in 2023, in the trial held in Gáldar, and currently holds the fourth place of the national female ranking. Its constant progression and competitive capacity place it as one of the names to follow on the Spanish bodyboard.
