Cervo and Open Season take the honors on the first day of the Superyacht Cup Palma

The Pantaenius Race, an inaugural race, has started in a timely manner with a wind of between six and eight knots, with the Hoek Tuly Classic Atalante of 38.7 m leading the exit, followed closely by its shipyard partner and usual rival in Class A, Vijonara, in a step-out sequence. The test has started with good navigation conditions, but the wind has been falling, eventually forcing the short run for both classes. In Class A, the agile Cervo, a 39 m Tripp design, has been imposed on this first day, repeating the victory of the first day of last year and leaving second to the Gelliceaux, the Southern Wind of 35 m. Vijonara has been made with the third podium position, while the newly launched Hoek Truly Classic 128 Linnea Aurora has not been able to compete today due to technical problems after training, but is expected to join the competition tomorrow.

In Class B, a well-coordinated Baltic 68 Café Racer Open Season has managed to keep at bay the title defender, Rose, throughout the course, as well as the other three Café Racers - Ganesha (third), Scorpione Hormar and Pink Gin Verde - and the Y8 Yacht Sveam, who debuted in the race.
