Arousan technician Ero Pons, coach of the Spanish Olympic Sailing Team, has accumulated several and sound successes in the Olympic category of 49er. As an example, the fact that the Canadian-Catalan duo, composed of Diego Botín-Florian Tritell, was proclaimed the champion of Europe in 2022 and this same year, the Viguese couple Martin and Jaime Wizner, did the same.

Last season the president of the Royal Galician Federation of Vela, Manuel Villaverde, proposed to the organizers of the Abanca Week, to be able to count on the services of Pons, for the project started with the Clinic International April of Optimist that was held in the internal waters of Galicia, in the province of Orensana, in the facilities of the Nautical Club of Castrelo de Miño. The witness picked him up from the Ourense Dependation... and was a complete success, with the participation of half a hundred boys and girls from different areas across the Peninsula.

This has been worth it to him that those responsible for the Abanca Week have offered him not only to repeat Castrelo's experience (26-28 September), but also to launch the new sailing fleet of the Canido Maritime Club, in which its president Juan Pablo Cividanes is working and will have its premiere next 2026.

In the background of the incomparable Regatas Field of the Cí Islands, it was a meeting of sailors, who also from the president of Canido, had the highest responsibility for the sport of the University of Vigo, Alfonso Mandado, who is the vice president of the Maritime Club of Vigo, and Carlos Moreno (former managing director of the Nautico de La Coruña and the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona), as well as Emilio Méndez, director of the great School of Vela de Canido.
