Ares, one of the leading global managers of alternative investments, joins the French SailGP Team investor consortium, in which the Real Madrid superstar Killian Mbappé also participates

SailGP today announced that Ares Sports, Media and Entertainment funds, has acquired minority participation in the France SailGP Team. This strategic investment marks Ares' entry into SailGP and strengthens the growing momentum of the Rolex SailGP Championship. The firm joins the consortium of investors of the French team, in which Killian Mbappé is already involved.

This news is in addition to recent high-profile acquisitions, such as the sale of the Red Bull Italy SailGP team to a consortium of investors and references from the Italian sports industry, or the purchase of the Australian team Bonds Flying Roos by Hollywood stars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.

Sportsology Capital Partners also joined the group of owners of the French team, along with Ares and Coalition Capital, the fund led by Mbappé. The France SailGP Team, led by the Olympic regatist Quentin Delapierre, is managed by K-Challenge and is supported by Accor, one of the world's main hotel groups.

The team currently ranks sixth in the overall ranking of the 2025 Rolex SailGP Championship season, after achieving a podium this month in New York.
