Lanzarote Calero Sailing Team deserved more in the 44Cup Porto Cervo
The Lanzarote Calero Sailing Team has closed its participation in the 44Cup Porto Cervo with its high head and one more lesson in its consolidation within the demanding RC44 circuit. He ended up in tenth position with the victory of Monegasque Team Nika, the results did not reflect all the work and effort invested, the team starred in moments when there was a clear evolution with respect to the first race in February in the Virgin Islands.
The most outstanding moment of the day came in the third race, when the canary team managed to first ride the barlovent beacon after a large exit. The maneuver was the result of a precise reading of the field and a tactical battle between Team Nika and Artemis Racing, which opened the door to Lanzarote to position itself in the head. However, an inopportune knot in the gennaker prevented the sail from being deployed in time, blocking the maneuver and resulting in a compromised situation in which the team was penalized after obstructing Team Aqua. From a possible podium fight on that sleeve, it went to the last place.
