The Fly-By, during the second stage of the European race, will take The Ocean Race back to Portugal with a strong approach to mobilizing action for ocean health

The Ocean Race Europe will arrive in Portugal this summer and Matosinhos- Porto will host an exciting Fly-By race, in which the race teams will make a quick stop at the Porto Cruise Terminal on August 20 and land activities that will highlight the need to redouble efforts to protect and restore the health of the ocean. The Matosinhos-Porto event offers fans a front-row seat for an exciting moment in The Ocean Race Europe, with IMOCA flying ships coming down the Portuguese coast until the arrival of Fly-By, before restarting the stage three hours later and continuing towards Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea.

All this will happen during the second stage of The Ocean Race Europe, which leaves Portsmouth on August 17 and leads to the fleet to Cartagena. This is a double score stage, and half of the points are given in the arrival Fly-By, making Matosinhos-Porto an important sports milestone on the route of the race.
