The Sal Route begins in Barcelona, Wing Foil in Chiclana, National Snipe in Melilla
The Sal Road fleet is already on its way to Ibiza
At 12: 00, for the fleet of the Barcelona version, and at 2: 00 in the afternoon for the fleet of the Denia version, the exit of the 2025 edition of La Ruta de la Sal Rumbo Ibiza has been given. 750 regatists, representing 52 nautical clubs from all over the Mediterranean arc and from northern Europe, already sail on board 116 ships with the aim of crossing the line of arrival off Sant Antoni de Portmany on the west coast of Ibiza. In the Barcelona version, with a 140 nautical mile tour, they have finally taken the exit in front of Port Ginesta 48 boats. The mistral wind that has blown strong during the previous night has been reducing its intensity throughout the morning, so that the pistoletazo of the exit has been given with 12 knots of wind, north-west rachas that reached 16 and with waves of a meter high that as the ships were moving away from the coast were increasing in size.
Although the time limit is set at 10: 00 hours on Saturday, April 19, the first ships are expected to arrive in Ibiza by the morning of Thursday to Friday, especially the participants of the Mini- Sal version and the fastest ships of the Denia version. In fact, the wind conditions make it possible to predict that the Pelotari Project, the fastest ship in the fleet, can overcome the test record, which they themselves set in the 2022 edition with 12 hours, 22 minutes and 10 seconds. To find out who crosses the first goal of the Barcelona version, we will have to expect something more because of the face wind and the night calm that threaten its advance. In any case, it is expected that the bulk of the fleet of Denia will tie up at the Nautical Club of Sant Antoni of Portmany along the morning of Friday 18 and that the one in Barcelona will do the same throughout the last hour of the afternoon of that same day.
