The Olympic Week of France in Hyères, the great meeting of Toulon Provence... from April 19 to 26

The best Olympic regatists in the world are preparing, as they have for more than 50 years, for the unique challenge of the French Olympic Week of Hyères - Toulon Provence Méditerranée, considered one of the most outstanding ciltas at the planetary level. As the second event of the new Grand Slam de Vela (SGS, the Grand Slam of the Olympic Sail), an event dedicated to the Olympic Sail, which will bring together more than 800 regatists from 19 to 26 April, in French Mediterranean waters.

The Salt Road to Iniza already exceeds 100 registered

With the departure scheduled for April 17, The Rumbo Ibiza Sal Route heats engines while the final list of ships that will compete in this thirty-seventh edition is just set. The inscriptions, which already have 116 ships and 650 regatists, will remain open until 4 April or until the maximum quota is reached, marked by the number of moorings available to host in the Port of Sant Antoni of Portmany to the large fleet upon arrival in Ibiza. This high race remains true to its two-version format: the Barcelona version of
140 nautical miles, with exit from Port Ginesta, and the 117 nautical mile Denia version, with exit from the Royal Denia Nautical Club. Both fleets are in the same line of arrival in front of the Náutic Sant Antoni Club, on the west coast of Ibiza.

Among the 50 clubs that will be represented in the race, there are 9 teams each, the Real Club Nautico de Valencia and the Club Nautico de Vilanova. They are followed by Marina de Valencia and Club de Mar Port Olímpic, with 7 teams, the Real Club Nautico de Denia with 6, the Club Marítimo Port Ginesta and the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante with 5, the Real Club Nautico de Palma with 4 and the Club Nautico Sant Antoni with 3. The origins of the registered regatists are very varied. Some 20% of the shipowners come from the province of Barcelona and a similar percentage from the province of Valencia. Alicante, with 10% is the third province that brings the most shipowners to the race, followed by Madrid (6%) and Mallorca (5%). Port its part Castellón, Murcia, Tarragona and Ibiza contribute, each of them, 3% of the shipowners. Foreign participation is around 30% of the total, with French, Dutch, Belgian, German, English, Irish and Italian teams taking part.

The day was resolved after two tests, as for logistics issues the departure was delayed, which prevented a third test from being held. The two tests were marked by a medium to strong wind in intensity, between 14 and 18 knots of streak, with quite wave, and barlovento-sotavento route, advisable given the conditions and low participation, with only nine regatists in the water.

The winners of the day were Rafael Ruiz (CV Bahia de Cadiz) and Juan Luis Páez (CN Sevilla). In the first trial, after Ruiz entered Páez, Luis Alfonso Pérez (CV Bahia de Cadiz), Ángel Miranda (CVR Chipiona), first A2, and Vicente Centiment (CV Bahia de Cadiz) in fifth place, and in the second they supported Páez, Pérez Nogués, Centiment, Rafael Ruiz and Manuel Caro (CVR Chipiona), first A2, at top5.

With the two trials disputed this Saturday the general is already ten, and the Juan Luis Páez is still in the head, now with three points of advantage over Rafael Ruiz, who unpack with Climent and rises a post. Citation closes the podium, three points from Ruiz. In the category A2 Angel Miranda continues to head with nine points of advantage over Carlos Roldán and ten over Nicolás Hernández del CN Sevilla.
