Javier Hernanz Agüeria has won the presidency of the Royal Spanish Federation of Piragüismo by adding 60 of the 73 votes cast. The other candidate who was present for these elections, José Alfredo Bea García has obtained 13 votes without any votes. In this electoral process they have exercised the right to vote 73 of the 74 Assemblies.

The result achieved in these elections held on the afternoon of Friday 14 March in Seville, confirm the result achieved in the General Assembly held on 12 December 2024, at the headquarters of the Federation and in which Hernanz added 62 of the 74 possible vouchers.

In his speech, after being proclaimed president, Javier Hernanz wanted to have a word of gratitude for the Assemblies. "I would like to thank all the people who have been with me for these three years, the members of the Board of Directors, the vice-presidents, the committee presidents who have done an unparalleled job, to thank the athletes who have left their skin so that the Spanish Federation will be placed at the top of the world's best federations and all the voters. We have cast the record in votes with which I would like to thank everyone."

Javier Hernanz, 41 years old and natural of Arrionda, was a high-level and integral piragüist, for more than three minutes of the national team in the disciplines of sprint and marathon. Throughout his sports career he managed to qualify for four Olympic Games and participate in two, those of Athens 2004 and Rio 2016, obtaining in the Brazilian event the fifth position in the K-4 1000 m test. He was a World of Marathon Subchampion in 2003 in K-2 and bronze medal in the 2018 World Cup of calm waters (K-1 5000 meters), as well as having added five other metals to different European championships.

In this way, Hernanz remains in office during this Olympic cycle that will end at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles (United States) in 2028. He is the seventh president of the Federation where they have given the office, Hernando Calleja, Manuel Fonseca, José Perurena, Santiago Sanmamed, Juan José Román Manga and Pedro Pablo Barrios.
