V2 Group creates Europe's first 3D-printed, recyclable catamaran

The prototype built by V2 Group has been selected as a flagship because it represents the most complex floating structure conceived. This one-piece catamaran stands out not only for its technological challenging design, but also for its maximum efficiency, driven by a fully innovative technology.
The Spanish company V2 Group, specialized in 3D design, engineering and printing for the nautical industry, has created the first European catamaran printed in fully electric and recyclable 3D.
V2 Group, with offices in Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona, has successfully developed the first monolithic catamaran - created in one piece - of 6 meters long for open water. The boat has been manufactured using 3D robotic printing technology, from the Italian leading company Caracol AM.

After the success of this first prototype, V2 Group plans to place, during 2025, its manufacture in several production centres that it will establish in Spain
V2 Group thus lays the foundations for future industrialization applied to this type of vessel. For its development, each aspect has been taken into account, from the selection of materials to the optimization of printing, assembly and testing times, to identify the key elements needed to scale production in an efficient, sustainable and cost-effective manner. This strategic approach is crucial to making this technology a widely applicable solution in the nautical sector and, in the future, to be able to extrapolate it to other industries, such as aerospace or the automotive industry.
