According to the monthly report prepared by ANEN with the data provided by the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy, the first month of 2025 leaves a balance of the nautical market with a total of 193 registration of recreational boats compared to 212 registered last year.

Segmentation by length:

Boats up to 6 meters continue to record the largest number of enrollments (141 units) and are also the ones who experience the lowest fall (-9%) in January. The rest of the length is registered down.

Market segmentation

The markets with the most representation in the nautical market in January have been the motor ships (44%) that have experienced a decrease in enrolment of 12.4% and the water bikes (22.8% of the market) with a fall of 12%. Folding pneumatic (16% of the market) increase their enrolment by 47.6% in January compared to the same month of 2024.

Rental market:

The market for the nautical charter (boat rental) records 51 units of ships registered for this use compared to 62 registered in January 2024, a fall of the
-17.7%.

By length, boats up to 6 meters are also the most significant (66.7%) in the rental market. By type of boat, motor vessels (47%) and water bikes (29.4%) have been the most representative in this market.

Enrolment by province:

The Balearic Islands, Alicante and Barcelona have led the enrollments with 23 records (Balearic Islands) and 22 (Alicante and Barcelona). As for January 2024, Baleares falls by -20.7%, Alicante doubles enrolment and grows by 100% and Barcelona grows by 37.5%.

Other provinces with high enrolment have been Almeria (15), Murcia (12) and Las Palmas (10).
