SailGP Spain third after Sidney, Interclubs Ria de Pontevedra, Snipe League in Getxo
Spain ends seventh in Sydney, and is third in the Rolex SailGP Championship general
The Spanish team of the Rolex SailGP Championship hastened their options to enter the end of this KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix - 124; Sydney until the last race, but there was no way. The exits ended up condemning Los Gallos, who finished sepmos on the weekend. However, Spain scale to the third position of the general classification, exceeding New Zealand.
The Spanish team won two fifths in the first two races of the day, making it possible to shorten distances with the third square and dreaming of repeating the final after Auckland. Three points separated our Canada's from Gilles Scott, so Diego Botín and company played it all or nothing on the last sleeve of the weekend. It didn't go well: The Gallos were soon caught in the traffic of the race field and could only be novies.
The victory of this Grand Prix was for Dylan Fletcher's GBR Emirates, which started this 2025 season as a shot. The British now command the general of the Rolex SailGP Championship, and there is no doubt that this course will be a hard rival. North Star Canada was second and Tom Slingsby's Australia - imperial all weekend - had to settle for a third place.
Juan Mata, champion of the World and Europe with Spain, of the Champions League with the Chelsea, and current Western Sydney Wanderers player, visited the base of the Spain SailGP Team in Sydney before the start of the sleeves. Valencia's former, Chelsea, Manchester United or Galatasaray was able to enjoy the exciting world of high competition sailing.
