The unforgettable wake of the great nautical journalist Macarena Lainez
I just stayed on a stone when I was in the process of writing, updating my digital nautical plot... by reviewing the news of our Royal Spanish Vela Federation... I found the sad news. Rest in peace our loving friend, your plot in the candle will be difficult to cover... your image will never erase from the hearts, of which we had the honour of being your friends. From Galicia to the sky a message of immense love and love. So long, friend. Manuel Pedro Seoane, editor of ND.

With great pain, the Real Federación Española de Vela reports that yesterday, January 30, he left us Macarena Lainez, Maca, a companion of the sailing world, a pioneer in national nautical communication and a great professional of journalism.
Maca has been the head of the Federation's press since 2019. His work during the last JJOO in Paris 2024 will be one more sign of his great legacy. The quality and rigour of their work have been a school for many and have accompanied our sport in recent decades. The candle is a sport full of passion and Maca has been able to fill it with the most just and beautiful words.
Maca, natural of Cadiz, began his professional career in the late 1980s. She was the founder and director of the magazines Motor and Sailboats. He worked with the great publishers of the sector and in the 90's he was head of the press of the best race teams during the golden time of the IMS cruise in Spain.
Maca is and will always be a working and very dear woman. Good friend, always surrounded by good people. From people from the sea. From the Federation we accompany in the feeling his family and friends and all those around it. We'll all miss you so much.
