Another year, the Grimaldi Mare Nostrum Magazine has convened the 17th edition of the Mare Nostrum Awards International Journalism Award, which will deliver five cash prizes of 10,000 euros each, reaching a total of 50,000 euros. The deadline for the delivery of the journalistic works is April 20.

Over the years, the competition has expanded its cultural scope and thematic areas with the aim of faithfully reflecting the process of transformation and evolution of the global shipping sector, as well as the deep respect for the environment that has always inspired the actions of the Grimaldi Group.

Therefore, all the works that promote the motorways of the Sea as a valid alternative to the transport of goods by road, that highlight the maritime connections in the Mediterranean for tourist purposes and that highlight the attention of the entrepreneurs for the health of the marine ecosystem will be able to participate in the Periodistic Prize.

The Mare Nostrum Awards is open to all professional and freelance journalists, photographers, videomakers and authors in general resident in Europe and Tunisia, who have disseminated and valued these issues through articles and journalistic reports of analysis, stories of sea travel, research on new trends in the transport of goods and passengers, economic-tourist research, documentaries, television and radio reports and photographic reports. It should be noted that there will be no articles consisting of an interview with a single interlocutor.

The bases, which can be consulted on the link you will find at the end of the note, accept works in Italian, English, Spanish, Catalan, French and Greek, published between September 20, 2024 and April 20, 2025 in national newspapers and magazines (both online and offline), media specialized in transport, economy and tourism (online and offline), press agencies, national and local television and radio stations, photography and photographic exhibitions, documentary and environmental portals, and travel blogs.

Nominations must be made to the Secretariat for the Organization of the Prize by 25 April 2025, both in digital format (Word file) by e-mail to mna @ grimaldi.napol.it, and in original format. To promote the direct experience of navigation, participants will be able to make a return trip on board the ships of Grimaldi Lines, Minoan Lines and Transmed GLE, in service between Italy, Spain and Greece, before 31 March 2025. The International Award Jury is composed of prominent personalities from the world of journalism and culture.
