Digital Nautical Trophy: Rural Kutxa, Txupinazo, Bacilon and Kohen win in Getxo

The Rural Kutxa School of Vela José Luis de Ugarte de Peru Abásolo, the Txupinazo of Juan Valdivia, the Bacilón of José Miguel Franco and the Kohen of Juan Carlos Estefanía were proclaimed absolute winners of the IV Digital Nautical Trophy in the Vizcaína waters of the Abra. The third and last day was completed with the north wind of 12 to 15 knots.

The J80 completed three tours, with final victory for the rural Kutxa of Peru Abásolo, with a first, second and third place. The José Azqueta Biobizz, which did not take part in this last date, finished second to three points of the winning crew. In the third position, Juan Penide's Team Group Engineering was classified.

On the other hand, the ships of the Regata and Cruise class scored after not doing so in the previous day of the Digital Nautical Trophy. The Txupinazo of Juan Valdivia, after almost three hours of navigation, won the 17-mile test and ended the final winner, on a day that he scored double. Second in the general classification was the Thelonious of Jon Garay, with the same points (7) as the winner, and third was the Maitena of Mikel Emaldi.

In Cruise I, the Bacilon of José Miguel Franco overcame with his victory on the final tour to the Turi of Simon Cortés, with the Nexus of Javier Trueba third. In Cruise II, the Kohen of Juan Carlos Estefanía certified as expected his final victory and reedited the title, with the Manila of Miguel Oraá second, the Txepin of Koldo Báez third, the Ramper of Jairo López of Guevara fourth and the Blai of Iñigo Aldea fifth.

This Digital Nautical Trophy, organized by the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club, has been held over three weekends of this 2025 just started.

This Saturday, in which February begins, comes the final day of the first year of the 2025 sailing championship organized by the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club. Thus, the latest and decisive tests of the IV Digital Nautical Trophy are held for J80 monotypes and boats of the Regata and Cruise class. The third of the citations that make up this competition is scheduled to leave for the J80 monotypes at 11: 00 and for the rest of the participating crews at 12: 00.

The José Azqueta Biobizz is the great favorite in the J80 class after the seven wins in the seven tours held in this division. After the strong and indisputable leader (6 points with a discard), the Rural Kutxa School of Vela José Luis de Ugarte de Peru Abásolo (13 points) and the Team Group Engineering de José Luis Ribed (18 points) are classified. Fourth is the Obelix of Paul Gomeza (29 points).

On the other hand, the ships of the Regata and Cruise class hope to repoint after the day of much wind last Saturday that prevented them from navigation in this fourth edition of the Digital Nautical Trophy. The Maitena is first in the Regata division ahead of the Symphony of Javier Onaindia, the Thelonious of Jon Garay, the Despeinado of Carlos Maidagan, the Txupinazo of Juan Valdivia, the Akelarre of Mauricio Guibert, the Rat Pack of Javier-varri and the Alpega of Alfonso Churuca. In Cruciero I, the Turi de Simón Cortés takes advantage of the Bacilón of José Miguel Franco and the Nexus of Javier Trueba. And in Cruise II the Kohen of Juan Carlos Estefanía has near the final victory, with the Manila of Miguel Oraá second, the Ramper of Jairo López of Guevara third and the Blai of Iñigo Aldea fourth.
