The nautical market in Spain, in the full exercise 2024, has recorded 5,027 registrations of recreational boats, including water bikes (Photo Moebius)

According to the annual report prepared by ANEN with the data provided by the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy, the market for recreational craft in Spain in 2024 has experienced a decrease in enrolment compared to the years
with a significant fall in almost all segments, markets and provinces.

In 2024, the total enrolment was 5,027, a decrease of 15.9 per cent over 2023. Monthly enrolment shows a decreasing trend compared to previous years.

Most of the vessels registered in 2024 had a length of up to 6 metres (70.3% of the total), a segment that until December of this year has fallen by 18.3% compared to 2023. For their part, vessels over 16 metres made up 1.1% of the total market and have been the only segment with positive figures, with a growth up to December of 8.2%.

The markets with the most representation in the nautical market have been the water bikes (31%), which have experienced a decrease in enrolment of 19.2% from 2023; and the motor ships that made up 42.5% of the market, with a decrease of 6.8% from the previous year.

The registration of rental vessels also decreased in 2024, with a total of 1,742 and a decrease of -15.3% over 2023. The water bikes (42%) and motor ships (35%) were the most significant segments in the rental market
