Alex Peña has fulfilled his dream... to beat the old record of the Route of Discovery
Today, Monday, December 10, at 8 hours, 23 minutes and 48 seconds, (peninsular time) the Maxicat Victoria; of the ocean navigator, Alex Pella, has crossed the line of arrival in San Salvador, one of the islands of the Los Bahamas archipelago and have done so in 8 days, 11 hours, 7 minutes and 3 seconds. The first stage of this route, Huelva-La Gomera, was made in 1 day, 18 hours, 24 minutes and 38 seconds. Of this
way, they have managed to beat the record of the Route of Discovery by making it in 9 days, 17 hours, 41 minutes and 41 seconds. The difference with the Mapfre, which held this record, has been 1 day, 13 hours, 18 minutes and 59 seconds.
The Maxicat Victoria is a mythical ocean multicasco, built in France, with a length of 33.5 meters, a sleeve of 17.5 meters and a height of the mast of 42.6 meters.
