Alicante Week begins with two intense cycles
On 30 November and 1 December about 200 Optimist will compete as a pre-match of the Equalite 2025... in the second event to be held from 6 to 8 December will be the turn for the light sailing and Olympic classes Europe, 420 and Ilca. The venue of the event will be La Cantera place for the School of Sailing and Light Sailing and where the fleet will be divided into two groups, Optimist A (92 registered) and Optimist B (83). The tests will start at 12 hours and a maximum of six sleeves distributed between the two days of competition will be held, and no more than four tests can be navigated in the same day. The trophy delivery is scheduled for Sunday, December 1, at 5 p.m. The Nautical Week of Optimist will serve as an antecedent of the Equalite 2025, an international race of Optimist that this year will have its second edition, to be held from 14 to 16 March and to which teams of both Spanish and foreign have already shown interest.
Cartagena new headquarters of Ocean Power Watersports Photography Awards
In an expected announcement, the city of Cartagena has been chosen as the new headquarters of the Ocean Power Watersports Photography Awards, the prestigious international photography competition dedicated to water sports. This event, which celebrates the beauty, strength and communication around the ocean, will hold its next edition on the weekend of March 8, 2025, consolidating Cartagena as an epicenter of artistic, sports and cultural creativity.
Failed Gruissan International Sports Photo Festival Awards
The international sports photography festival Gruissan Sport Photo has issued its verdict and has just awarded the best international sports photography of the last 12 months. The photo of Lilou Valero capturing the flight of Brazilian surfer Gabriel Médina at the Olympic Games that won the Grand Prix this year is the one that illustrates this section.
In this Olympic year, over 300 photographers from 52 countries participated in the competition by presenting 3,000 photographs, the best of which will be shown next year in Gruissan.
