Despite the presence of professional crews and some of the world's most avant-garde sailing boats, the Rolex Sydney Hobart, as well as other ocean classics such as the Rolex Fastnet Race and the Rolex Middle Sea Race, is impregnated with the traditional spirit of sailing.

An impressive fleet of more than 100 boats will begin on December 26 in the port of Sydney the 79 edition of the Rolex Sydney Hobart, an ocean race that goes beyond the sports. Last international sports event of the year from its first edition of 1945, it passes along 628 nautical miles to the port of Hobart, in Tasmania, one of the most legendary and complicated tours on a planetary level.

Since its first edition almost 80 years ago, the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race has forged a world reputation and has become one of the most famous quotes of the international sports calendar. Rolex collaborates with the event and its organizer, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, since 2002, and the race is an integral part of a relationship of the Swiss watchmaker with the candle that dates back almost seven decades.

The 2024 will be the 79 edition of this 628 nautical mile race, which unites the port of Sydney and Hobart, the capital of the state of Tasmania. The departure, as always, will take place on December 26, in the middle of the southern summer, surrounded by a festive atmosphere and seen live by a large crowd that traditionally agolts along the coast to enjoy the show.
